Chillers4Hire, a Coolmation Group division, is expanding its network of hire support services to meet an increasing demand for temporary space cooling and chilling systems. Providing a comprehensive temporary cooling hire fleet which can deliver chilling equipment nationwide, Coolmation can create temporary chilled space for food manufacturing, processing and storage environments exactly when needed.
Food processing and manufacturing operations managers are facing increasing pressure to keep operating costs down, while still meeting the seasonal supply demands of their customers. As a result, extra chilled storage or manufacturing space is needed at certain times of the year, driven by production targets. The solution is to hire a temporary cooling system which provides extra chilled space by simply turning an adjacent empty enclosed storage area or temporary building into a chilled one for peak production times.
Temporary cooling therefore provides a cost-effective answer to the need for extra chilled storage or work space while managing to keep both annual capital and operating costs low. In addition, hiring a temporary cooling or chilling system can also be the solution to emergency critical cooling. Food manufacturers and processors can experience times when cooling or chilling equipment fails leaving perishable goods exposed to rising temperatures, or causing low temperature production processes to come to a halt, both which are extremely costly. However, hiring a temporary cooling or chilling system allows food production to continue and perishables to be safely stored while a replacement cooling solution is sourced.
“When supplying temporary cooling it is important to consider both the application and the critical nature of temperature control. Food manufacturers and processors face increasing pressure driven by seasonal production demands. Whether it is providing cooling to store Easter eggs in the Spring or Christmas Fayre, Coolmation can supply temporary cooling to an area just for the period it is needed, a cost effective solution in the current climate.” explains
Coolmation is able to quickly provide a customer with a temporary chilling system, comprising specially adaptedlow temperature air handling units installed within the space, which are connected via pre-insulated flexible hoses to a glycol chiller located outside. The system is completely automatic and is controlled in the same way as an insulated system
The components of the system vary depending on customer demand but will include:
- One or a multiple of small, medium or high capacity glycol chillers;
- The required number of air handling units or ‘chilled air blowers’;
- Quick connect pre-insulated flexible hose to interconnect the low temperature air handling units to the glycol chiller(s);
- A food safe glycol fluid, either polypropylene or vegetable extract one.
All the equipment needed to complete a temporary installation can be supplied, delivered and installed nationwide by fully trained installation and commissioning teams, backed up, when required, by 24/7 service support. Coolmation has developed a range of packages to suit temporary cooling needs for the customer ensuring that the temporary chilling solution, is also the most cost effective one.
All of these services are underpinned by the Coolmation Group’s 30 years’ experience in the cooling industry, which Coolmation believes sets it apart from a typical plant hire company with a cooling and chilling hire fleet.
